Is €600 Enough For 6 Months In Bali? – Raul Bormann | Beached #15

It was a long burning dream for Raul to come and visit Bali, and after ‘gambling’ his savings on travel expenses to enter a surf comp he eventually made it to the ‘Land of the Lefts’.

On advice from his friends, he arrived armed with €600, hoping to stay for 6 months. He ran out of money after 3 months – which isn’t a bad effort – and had to go and work in Australia to revive his bank account.

The budgeting is in better order these days, and he uses Bali a base between stints of work in Europe and chasing events on the Qualifying Series.

#SOBBeached is an interview series giving a voice to some of the surfers featured in our videos.
