Being the deepest in the lineup doesn’t always guarantee the best position for a wave, especially at a spot like Uluwatu with a shifty peak.
The guy at the start of the video wasn’t the deepest, but he was a bit further out than everyone else and so was unchallenged for position when a wave started standing up out the back.
