Time & Place – What’s Uluwatu Like In August?

August can deliver the biggest waves of the year, as the opening section of this video showcases a massive day back in 2021.

But it isn’t always huge, with the swell getting quite small at times and everything in between.

The SE trades are usually very reliable in August, often blowing offshore day and night. So a groomed lineup is pretty standard. But being so reliable, it’s also one of the busiest months of the year with lots of skilled surfers all competing for a slice of Bali’s most reliable wave.
