Time & Place – What’s Canggu Like In August?

August will often have some of the strongest SE trade winds, which is cross-offshore for the breaks in Canggu.

With this in mind it’s almost always the first hour or two of the day when you can get clean conditions. But sometimes the trade wind will blow hard all night and even the early session will have cross-shore bump on it.

On the plus side, there’s always enough swell so it’s just a matter of hoping for the wind to back down.

Here’s thirty minutes of Canggu that we filmed in August 2023 to show you what it’s like.
