Shibumi Shade: The World’s Best Beach Shade?

The Shibumi Shade is the world’s best beach sunshade for a reason: it’s designed and sewn in America, and it works with the slightest ocean breeze to cast ample shade. The free-flowing design works with the wind, not against it. Weighing less than 4 pounds, Shibumi Shade can be carried by any member of the family. One person can set up Shibumi Shade in a couple of minutes, providing shade for 6 with room for beach gear too.

So if you’re looking for a beach umbrella that can protect your family from the sun, the Shibumi Shade is a perfect choice, let me tell you why.

First, the Shibumi Shade is wind-powered, so you don’t have to worry about it breaking or blowing away in high winds. Second, it’s designed and sewn in America, so you know it’s made with quality in mind. And finally, it’s extremely lightweight and easy to set-up, so you can take it anywhere.

I want you to think back to the last time you went to the beach and had your hands packed with all the gear you and your family needed. Think about how heavy it all is and how difficult it is to keep track of everything while trying to find a spot on the sand. Now, imagine if you only had to carry one item: your Shibumi Shade sunshade. Not only would it be lighter and easier to manage, but you could also set it up in minutes, giving you more time to enjoy the beach.

The Dangers Of Traditional Beach Umbrellas

If you’ve ever been to the beach on a busy and windy day, you’ve probably witnessed it. The stray beach umbrella flying down the beach barreling over people after the wind ripped it out of the ground. It’s a scary site, especially if you’re the one who the umbrella is heading for.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. With the Shibumi Shade sunshade, you don’t have to worry about the wind picking up and blowing your sunshade away. That’s because it’s designed to work with the wind, not against it. The free-flowing design of the sunshade allows it to catch the wind and stay in place, even on the windiest of days.

What are the Benefits of Using the Shibumi Shade?

The sunshade provides UPF 30+ sun protection, which means that it can block out 97% of UVB rays. The sunshade is also wind-powered, meaning that it won’t break or blow away in high winds. Additionally, the sunshade is easy to carry and easy to set up, making it a great choice for families who want to enjoy the beach without worrying about sun exposure.

What Are The Cons of The Shibumi Shade?

One reviewer mentioned that it didn’t work at all for them on a day with no wind, however, most sunshades wouldn’t work on days with zero wind. If there’s no breeze at the beach, it’s probably better to just enjoy the sun or use a traditional umbrella! Additionally, some reviewers found the sunshade to be a bit pricey. With how much inflation has been hurting my family personally I know that it is a pricey way to stay out of the shade. However, it does work great, it’s a high-quality material and should last a long time. Has anyone else bought countless $25-$35 umbrellas that broke after a few uses?

Is The Shibumi Shade Worth It?

Instead of me boring you with just my personal opinion, and the opinion of the people at the beach who also had a Shibumi Shade, let’s look at a few other people’s thoughts.

“At first, my husband and I were concerned about the price of this shade but we were going to The Outer Banks for the week and needed some SHADE. We have been to Portsmouth every year for our anniversary for the last 14 years and every year we try unsuccessfully to use umbrellas, sun tarps, or screen houses. Nothing worked because of the wind over there.

So this year we gave the Shibumi Shade a shot. Oh my gosh! I put it up by myself in less than 2 minutes and had lots of shade. We parked my truck under it and tailgated while we were surf fishing, and still had room for chairs!

This is by far our best camping purchase EVER, plus, it’s so easy I can take it to the beach or anywhere else I need fast shade.

The best part is that the company was created by fellow North Carolinians who know how crazy the beach wind in NC can be. They are all handmade and high quality. I am glad that I am supporting local business owners and I cannot say enough about how wonderful this shade is. Well done Shibumi!”

“We just returned from our week at Emerald Isle with our Shibumi. Loved it! From high wind days to almost no wind days, it had us covered. It’s so easy to set up and take down, we even had a few people stop by to ask about it. Thanks for a great product!”

“We just received our Shibumi Shade in late August and went to Sandbridge Beach (south of Virginia Beach) on Labor Day to try it out. It was a windy day with at least 10+mph wind all day. I saw one beach umbrella rolling down the beach and several beach canopies with the windward side caved in. There were also a lot of people that brought their umbrellas and canopies down to the beach but left them unopened due to the wind. Our Shibumi Shade worked great for us all day long. This was a great upgrade from our canopy that was permanently caved in on one side back from the wind in Nags Head back in June.

The Shibumi Shade packs up so small and is so light, that we are planning to take it in our luggage to our Grenada vacation next year. Why fight the resort crowd at 6am to reserve a small beach umbrella or Tiki Hut barely large enough for two chairs? We’ll sleep in and take our Shibumi Shade down after breakfast and relax.”
