Bali Surf Journal – May 2019

April’s good form spilled over into May with some glassy conditions and back to back swells at the start of the month.

We didn’t get anything as big as what we saw in April, but the quality of the waves was hard to beat – and on all sides of the island for good measure.

The world’s best men and women surfers rolled into town just in time for one of these dreamy swells, and they put on an absolute clinic of hi-fi surfing at Keramas a few days before the comp kicked off.

This was as good as it would get unfortunately and although there were some nice waves during the waiting period I’m sure they would have been hoping for a little more size.

The back end of the month was fairly patchy in regards to swell and the SE trades started to ramp up. It looks like more of the same in the forecast with the wind, but at least there’s some swell to go along with it.
