Overview
A short, lesson-heavy introduction to Bali surfing based in Padang Padang on the Bukit Peninsula. CARI packs two surf lessons a day into a three-night stay, with board rental, surf theory and photo/video analysis included, plus yoga on set days. It is a good fit if you only have a long weekend and want to make real progress.
Waves and surf spots
The Bukit Peninsula is home to some of Bali's best-known reef breaks – Padang Padang, Uluwatu, Bingin and Balangan among them. Beginners are not thrown onto the heavy reefs: the coaches choose spots that suit each group's level, and the reef breaks become an option as you progress.
A typical day and lessons
Expect two surf lessons a day, with theory and video/photo analysis to review your sessions. Board rental is included for the stay, and yoga classes run on specific days of the week.
Accommodation and food
Three nights at the camp, which has air-conditioned rooms, a pool and a restaurant. Breakfast is served daily, and the package includes one family dinner and one BBQ night; other meals are at your own cost in the many warungs and cafés nearby.
Getting there
Fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar. Airport transfers are not part of this package, so book a taxi or private driver to Padang Padang.
